Aprons & Pearls

It has been a busy week to say the least. Food preparations, cleaning, family gatherings, shopping, sickness…not a dull or down moment.

Traditionally I like to get our tree up the Saturday after Thanksgiving, but this year we had our big extended family gathering at my Aunt’s so I had planned to do it Friday, but we spent more time out of the house than in, so it got bumped to Sunday, and then yesterday. Today is the day though. It will be happening. I am breaking out the cocoa, cookies, and Christmas movies (or music if I get the kids to nap!)…The kids will remember the decorating, not the date at this point.

I can listen to Christmas music or watch the movies all year long. I love Christmas. It’s my favorite time of year.

Traditions of the season are something I love as well. We are still working on ours, and they are pretty simple, but I still love them.

I had planned to get a post about Christ centered Christmas/Advent Ideas yesterday, but with hubby home sick I was taking care of him too, so it didn’t get done. I am hoping to get it out tomorrow, so please check back!

Hubby is home sick for the second day today, so I am working on boosting everyone’s immune system.

What are some of your traditions? How do you keep Christ the focus of Christmas?

On to the linkup!

“If you want to experience consistent victory and see it played out in the atmosphere of your home, continually look for areas in which the Holy Spirit is leading to greater obedience, and ask God what your part is in making that a reality.

  1. Hi Robbie, I’m so sorry to hear your husband is home sick. I’m adding my prayers to yours for a speedy recovery! One of our traditions includes a collection of those inexpensive Christmas bears with the year monogrammed on them. I get at least one each year and we take pictures with them all, usually with the youngest holding that year’s bear so the year is visible. It’s been fun to look at the photos and see the grandchildren as infants propped up by the bears themselves and now to see their little ones propped up by them or crawling away (LOL). Have fun decorating whatever day it is and thanks for hosting.
