Happy Daylights Savings Time! Said no mom ever…. The fall back is rough getting up an hour early because your child thinks it is normal time. The spring forward is rough because to them it’s just 7 pm when it is now supposed to be 8 pm. Have I mentioned girlie is a night owl? A night owl on day light savings time is even less fun.
Everyone except hubby is pretty much over whatever IT was. I came down with it Thursday. Saturday morning my fever broke, but I was still feeling off. Saturday hubby came down with a fever. By Friday the children were, for the most part, completely better. The toddler has a bit of a cough. I just feel wiped out. I want to balance getting stuff done now (because I have done hardly anything around the house since Wednesday night) with taking easy so I do not go down again.
The big kids have been amazing. The have been stuck inside for over a week, but have been great sports about it. They have been helpful. I must admit though, when I was sick girlie did not take care of me like she took care of daddy. Cool rag, water bottle (that I filled up), checking him with her steph-a-scope and fer-mometer, having Google play relaxing, quiet music, and rubbing his feet….
Our house smells of elderberries and garlic.
Hubby did take our oldest to see a movie Saturday morning before he spiked a fever, but they all need a good few hours at a play place to run and climb and jump (especially our toddler!). That will wait a few days more.
We are taking a light schedule this week. Just karate and science time Thursday.
The weather here has been up and down like a yo-yo, which may be part of the reason we are having such a tough time.
The flowering trees behind our house are blooming as well. Enter allergy season. Yay! I have a few things that we will be trying this year, and I may share some about that here later.
Our oldest has been asking every day if it is still winter. Yes, sweetie, it is. Not that we have had many signs of it. No snow yet. It is really looking like it will not snow. Girlie says that it can’t be winter if it doesn’t snow. Yes, it can sweetie. It does not seem fair, but yes, it can.
That is one reason a winter family bucket list is so hard. Part of it is that Winter does not really start until nearly Christmas and a lot of our Christmas traditions actually take place in autumn (sshhh!).
I will be updating our Spring bucket list this year. Hopefully we will hit some of the things that we did not get to last year.
On to the linkup!
The Aprons & Pearls Link-up
“If you want to experience consistent victory and see it played out in the atmosphere of your home, continually look for areas in which the Holy Spirit is leading to greater obedience, and ask God what your part is in making that a reality.
This is a Christ-based weekly link-up to encourage others in their walks, and help Christian bloggers get their work out there.
Leave links to posts that are:
Homemaking/natural living/parenting/Christian walk related.
This could be natural living posts, recipes, cleaning, parenting, devotions, lessons, homeschool, Christian living, mentoring, modesty, gardening, homemade, diy, marriage, relationships, frugality, etc.
- Link directly to your post (not to your homepage).
- Please, no marketing posts (Plexus, Jamberry, MLM Oils or the like). Affiliate links to relevant items okay.
- While I personally do not see anything wrong with a glass of wine every once in a while, please do not include alcoholic beverage recipes. It is a stumbling block to many, and I am not comfortable including them. They will be deleted.
- Feel free to include old posts that need some love, relevant link ups and giveaways.
- Leave as many as you like.
- Link back to the Aprons & Pearls Linkup, either using the button below or a text link on either your post, sidebar, or link party page.
- Use the hashtag #apronspearls when posting on social media so we can find your posts as well!
- I would like to encourage you to browse through the links and take time to visit some and comment when lead.
The link-up will run Tuesday at 6am-Sunday at 5pm. Please come back through Sunday and check out some of the posts!
I have made a Pinterest Board for the posts that you link-up, feel free to send me a message over on pinterest to be added. You can click here to check out the board.
