Outings & The Aprons & Pearls Link-up

I have been thinking about our week, and for some reason, when we are out for a few hours, I seem to write that day off as far as doing stuff around the house….

Example, 3’s Storytime this round started at 11, we leave around 10 so the kids can play before and we can pick out books, we get ready around 9:30, so when I get up at 6, there’s some time before we leave. We get back between 12:30-1, so there is plenty of time after. Granted, there are meals and diaper changes in there, but there’s really a lot of time I could use.

I really need to get my head around this….I know that sometimes it is because by the time we’re home I’m worn out, but part of it might be that I have no real aim that day other than our outing….

So this week I am tentatively planning things before and after…writing them out on my weekly overview. I might not be up to all of it by the time we get back, but I need to use the “awkward pauses” Nony of a Slob Comes Clean talks about…(you can check out that podcast here)

I listened to that podcast a good while back, but it’s not even like I am wondering what to do, I just have written the day off….

Just some randomness from me trying to figure things out….

On to the linkup!

  1. I found yesterday when I was out that I said to myself I would be home at a certain time, and I could do this and this so I did. Usually though if I get out of the house it’s too hard to get back in the groove when I get home.

  2. When my son was little and we left the house for whatever reason, I had to plan “light” things to do for that day. Writing them down so I could see them really helped. Thanks for sharing with Thankful Thursdays.

  3. Oh Sweet Girl….I don’t even have children at home and sometimes I find myself doing the same thing! Granted it is hard to mess up a house with only two people living in it, but there is still laundry, vacuuming and dusting to do. However, I will say this…you can never spend enough time with your kids and you will never regret what you didn’t get cleaned to spending time with them. One of things I found which worked best for me when my daughter was little was doing something each day instead of all of it at once. I had a laundry schedule, cleaning schedule and shopping schedule. It really helped in the planning process of the week. 🙂 Blessings to you!!
