Aprons & Pearls

Chivalry, Homemaking, Guest Posts, and the Aprons & Pearls Linkup

I am pretty excited about goings on here on the blog. Traffic has been way up, a few new posts, and a lot of planned posts.

Friday, Tiffany Montgomery shared How to Awaken Chivalry in a Biblical Marriage as a guest post here.

Yesterday I shared why Christians should care about the environment, and my favorite green products.

I also set up a guest post form. I am looking for guest posts to help fill in June/July/August since I will likely be a little too busy with our newest edition to blog, so if you are interested, please check that out! I would like to have everything in by the end of May, I will firm up a date a little later.

Tomorrow is the launch of the 2018 Ultimate Homemaking Bundle. It is by far my favorite homemaking resource. This year they are doing some free webinars leading up to the launch.

If you have been around here very long, you have probably heard me say that you cannot pour from an empty cup. Making time for God is so important. This afternoon-Tuesday April 11th- at 4pm EST Jami Balmet of Young Wife’s Guide is sharing on creative ways to grow in your faith.

The park behind the library that we usually play at before and after story and science times is closed, and slated to be torn down soon, so that was a sad discovery. A new, smaller (not sure how much smaller, the current one is not huge) one is set to go in further back, past a parking lot that is going in, so it will be a bit less convenient.. Should be done in time for the weather to turn colder this autumn…womp womp…a long summer is ahead!

Dropped the ball a bit on the spring bucket list this past week. Did some fun things, but nothing off of the list other than smelling flowers and picking more! The weather is supposed to be much nicer later this week (today’s high was 48!), so I am hoping to have some outdoor fun. We have a visit to a new museum planned for next week since this is our last week of story and science times for this session.I am also hoping to get the raised beds in for the garden this weekend. I did find this awesome Nature Scripture Scavenger Hunt printable from Amy Tol over at More Like Grace. I had planned to use nature to try to teach the kids more about God, and this makes it a bit easier on the pregnancy-brained mama!

Sunday night brought a great chance to talk to the children about being born again. Our oldest, B, had asked about it on the way home from church, so after supper we read the story of Nicodemus and Jesus to them. Still a bit over their heads, they are starting to grasp it, but praying that seeds have been planted.

I have a few more posts planned for this week, so please check back!

On to the linkup!

“If you want to experience consistent victory and see it played out in the atmosphere of your home, continually look for areas in which the Holy Spirit is leading to greater obedience, and ask God what your part is in making that a reality.

Aprons & Pearls Link~up @godschicki

This is a Christ-based weekly link-up to encourage others in their walks, and help Christian bloggers get their work out there.

Leave links to posts that are:

Homemaking/natural living/parenting/Christian walk related.

This could be natural living posts, recipes, cleaning, parenting, devotions, lessons, homeschool, Christian living, mentoring, modesty, gardening, homemade, diy, marriage, relationships, frugality, etc.

Linking Guidelines:

    • Link directly to your post (not to your homepage).
    • Please, no marketing posts (Plexus, Jamberry, MLM Oils or the like). Affiliate links to relevant items okay.
    • While I personally do not see anything wrong with a glass of wine every once in a while, please do not include alcoholic beverage recipes. It is a stumbling block to many, and I am not comfortable including them. They will be deleted.
    • Feel free to include old posts that need some love, relevant link ups and giveaways.
    • Leave as many as you like.
    • Link back to the Aprons & Pearls Linkup, either using the button below or a text link on either your post, sidebar, or link party page.
    • Use the hashtag #apronspearls when posting on social media so we can find your posts as well!
    • I would like to encourage you to browse through the links and take time to visit some and comment when lead.

The link-up will run Tuesday at 6am-Sunday at 5pm. Please come back through Sunday and check out some of the posts!

I have made a Pinterest Board for the posts that you link-up, feel free to send me a message over on pinterest to be added. You can click here to check out the board.

As time allows I will pin some links from the linkup (unless you have already added them to the board), share them on social media and comment.

Please note: View expressed in linkedup posts do not necessarily reflect my own, and I reserve the right to delete inappropriate posts.

  1. Your comments about the park made me think of a song, an oldie, probably before your time. LOL I don’t remember the name but the tune and one line popped into my head about tearing down a park and putting in a parking lot.

It’s so exciting to have little ones and watching their faith begin to come alive.

Have a great week, Many blessings!
