Life is what happens when you are making plans, right?
This week has been crazier than a lot of them.
We had our first trip to urgent care…our littlest had a pulled elbow. That was a fun trip with all three kids in tow. Five years with kids and no urgent care visits was a good streak. They called the next day and said that they wanted to double-check something on the xray, so back we went. Thankfully it was after daddy was home and could watch the older ones. Everything was fine, but they had to double check.
We are preparing for our third homebirth. Our midwives come Thursday to see our birth space and talk about how we want the birth to go. Which means I am folding mount laundrious, preparing the house, and preparing the birth supplies. We are officially 36 weeks, so baby can come anytime they like (though I have a few things that I would like to get done first!).
Yesterday was Memorial Day here in the States, and we had a church picnic. It rained a bit, but thankfully we had shelter at the park to hide under. We did knock dancing in the rain, and splashing in puddles (and mud) off the spring bucket list. Well, two of the three kids played. B does not like to get muddy, so he was more careful.
Not on the bucket list, but we did find some lizards outside of the library on our way out last week. It’s been about as close to a nature walk as we have gotten. That one may roll over to another time.
We studied a lady bug that found us. Not quite a bug hunt, but I think we will count it that way. The kids really enjoyed watching it before we let it go.
Hubby and I enjoyed a date night thanks to my mom who is up here for a couple of days to help get things ready. That will be the last time without a nursling along for a while!
The garden is getting big. Nothing harvested yet, but we have some tomatoes growing.
I mentioned some recipe round ups that I was hoping to get done last week. Obviously that did not happen. With getting things ready for the birth, unexpected days at urgent care, and everything else, it was pretty low priority. I am hoping to get them scheduled this summer though, along with some fantastic guest posts from some lovely ladies that have offered to help fill up the summer here so I can take a bit of a break.
